영어일기 쓰기 순서

▒ 일기의 처음은 날짜, 요일로 시작되는 것이 일반적이다. 보기를 '11 월 3 일 토요일'로 하면 다음과 같은 여러 형의 쓰는 식이 있다. (1) Saturday, November 3. (2) November 3rd, Saturday. (3) November 3, Saturday. (4) Saturday, November 3rd. (5) Sat., Nov. 3. (6) Nov. 3rd, Sat.

▒ 특히 연호를 기록하는 경우에는 : Saturday, November 3, 1986

▒ 특히 축제일을 기록하는 경우는 : Sat., Nov. 3. Culture Day.

▒ 특히 체재를 기록하는 경우는 : Washington, November 3. / November 3rd, Washington.

▒ 주일명이나 월명을 생략하여 쓰는 경우는 다음과 같다. 주일명 : Sun. Mon. Tues. Wed. Thurs. Fri. Sat. 월명 : Jan. Feb. Mar. Apr. Aug. Sept. Oct. Nov. Dec. (May, June, July 는 보통 약자로 쓰지 않는다. 단, July는 Jul., Jy., 또 June은 Jun., Je. 따위로 생략하는 경우가 간혹 있다).

▒ 날씨는, 날짜 다음에 계속해서 쓰는 것이 보통이나, 상세하게 쓸 경우는 본문에 넣는다. 사용되는 용어는 다음과 같은 것들이 있다. 맑음 fine, fair, clear, beautiful, bright, cloudless, sunny, favo(u)rable, ideal 흐림 cloudy, overcast, gloomy, dull 비 rainy, wet, a light [heavey, torrential, streaming] rain, occasional [intermittent] rain, a shower, a drizzle 눈 snowy, a light [heavy] snow 바람 foul, windy, stormy, nasty 추움·더움 cold, chilly, cool, warm, hot, sultry 기타 misty, foggy, frosty, sleety 또한 이상의 용어를 접속사로 맺어서 fine and warm (맑고 따뜻함), cold but beautiful (추우나 맑음) 따위로 쓰거나, 부사를 사용하여 subtly mild (훈훈하다), scorchingly hot(매우 덥다), refreshingly cool (서늘하다) 따위로 할 수도 있다. 또 날씨의 변화가 있는 경우에는 fine, cloudy later (맑은 후 흐림), fine, shower in the evening (맑음, 저녁 때 소나기) 따위로도 한다.

= 날씨표현(Weather) =

◎ 아주 좋은 날씨 : perfect(ideal) weather

◎ 좋은 날씨 : fine(fair, good, favorable, beautiful, splendid, lovely) weather

◎ 궂은 날씨 : foul(bad, nasty, wretched) weather

◎ 음산한 날씨 : gloomy(oppressive) weather

◎ 변덕스러운 날씨 : fickle(broken, changeable, unsettled) weather

◎ 거친 날씨 : stormy(rough) weather

◎ 험악한 날씨 : inclement weather

◎ 날씨 관계로 : Because of weather conditions

◎ 지금 날씨 같아서는 : Judging from the look of the sky

◎ 날씨가 좋으면 : If weather permit( if it is fine, weather permitting)

◎ 날씨가 좋건 나쁘건 : in fair weather or foul, rain or shine

◎ 날씨가 좋아지는 대로 : on the first fine day

= 계절표현(Season) =

봄 (spring)	◎ 봄이 되었다. It became spring. ◎ 햇빛이 비쳤다 It was sunny. ◎ 따뜻한 날씨였다. It was warm. ◎ 상쾌한 날씨였다 It was fine. ◎ 날씨가 점점 더워진다. It's getting hotter and hotter.
여름 (summer)	◎ 더웠다 It was hot. ◎ 구름이 끼어 있었다 It was cloudy. ◎ 안개가 끼었다. It was foggy. ◎ 당장 비가 올 날씨였다 It was threatening. ◎ 날씨가 잘 변하다 The weather is changeable(fickle, capricious). ◎ 비가 왔다 It was rainy. ◎ 날씨가 들었다 It cleared up. ◎ 차차 좋아질 모양이다 It seems that the weather is improving. ◎ 날씨 탓인지 머리가 무거웠다 I felt heavy in the head, probably because of(due to) weather.
가을 (fall, autumn)	◎ 좋은 날씨였다 It was very nice day. ◎ 하늘은 맑았다 the sky was clear. ◎ 시원한 날씨였다. It was cool. ◎ 날씨가 추워지다 It becomes cold. ◎ 오늘은 겨울 날씨 같았다 It was winter weather today. ◎ 쌀쌀했다. It was chilly.
겨울 (winter)	◎ 본격적으로 추워졌다 The cold weather has set in / Its really gotten cold. ◎ 추웠다 It was cold. ◎ 바람이 불었다 It was windy. ◎ 서리가 내렸다 It frosted(frost fell). ◎ 얼어붙는 듯한 날씨였다. It was freeze. ◎ 눈이 내렸다 It was snowy. ◎ 밖은 살을 에는 듯이 추웠다 It was bitterly cold outdoors. ◎ 오늘 아침은 몹시 추웠다 - It was awfully cold this morning. - The temperature dipped very low this morning.

 

1. 생 략 ▒ 일기는 매일 쓰는 것이므로, 문장은 간결한 것이 가장 좋다. 그러기 위해서 항상 분명한 주어 (필자 자신을 나타내는 I, 시간·날씨 따위를 나타내는 It)나 동사, 없어도 뜻의 혼란을 야기하지 않는 어구 따위는 생략하는 경우가 많다. <보기> 6 시 기상 ( I ) Got up at 6. 11 시 취침 ( I ) (Went)(To) Bed at 11. 하루 종일 비 ( It ) Rained all day. 내일 모래 (the) day after tomorrow 2 . 시제(時制) ▒ 현재형·과거형 어느것을 사용해도 좋으나 그날의 단순한 경험의 기술(記述)로서는 과거형을 쓰는 것이 일반적이다. 그러나 일상의 습관적 행위, 일반적 진리 또는 필자 자신의 심경 따위를 말하는 경우는 현재형이 쓰인다. <보기> ◎ 오늘 대준군이 왔다. Taejun came to see me in the afternoon. ◎ 날씨가 나날이 따뜻해진다. It is getting warmer day by day.

 하루일과 (Daily work)

▒ 아침(in the morning)

  ◎ 일찍 일어났다. : I got up early

◎ 언제나 아침 일찍[늦게] 일어난다 : I am an early[a late] riser.

◎ 어머니가 깨워주셨다. : I was awakened by grandmother

◎ 오늘 아침에 두 시간이나 늦잠을 잤다 : I woke up two hours late this morning

◎ 늦잠을 자서 학교에 지각했다 : I overslept and was late getting to the school.

◎ 어젯밤은 자지 않고 일어나 있었다 : I sat up all night (last night).

◎ 잠을 깼을 때는 모두 일어나 있었다 : When I awoke, everybody was up.

◎ 밥 먹기 전에 세수를 했다: I washed up before a meal.

◎ 나는 아침마다 조깅을 한다 : I jogs every morning.

◎ 공기가 맑고 신선했다. : The air was very clean and fresh.

◎ 아침을 먹었다 : I ate(took) my breakfast.

◎ 학교에 갔다 : I went to school.

◎ 집에서 정류장까지 걸어서 20분 걸린다.
: It takes about twenty minutes to walk to the bus stop from my house.

▒ 점심 (in the afternoon)

(1) 식사 lunch

◎ 점심을 먹었다. : I had(eat) lunch.

◎ 나는 점심에 샌드위치를 먹었다 : I had sandwiches for lunch.

◎ 점심시간은 한 시간이다 : We have an hours lunch break.

(2) 활동

<운동경기>

◎ 운동을 했다 : I took exercise.

◎ 오후에 야구를 했다. : I played baseball in the afternoon.

◎ 그는 모든 시합을 다 이겼다 : He won every event.

◎ 우리는 3점의 차로 이겼다 : We won by three points[runs](▶ runs는 야구의 경우)

◎ 우리는 시합에서 졌다 : We lost(drop) a game.

◎ ○○팀이 졌다. : ○○ team was defeated.

◎ 우리 팀은 10대 6으로 ○○팀에게 졌다
: Our team lost the game to the ○○team by a score of 10 to 6.

◎ 우리는 일부러(게임에서/경주에서) 져 주었다 : We threw a match[game/race] to ours opponent.

◎ 나는 아무한테도 진일이 없다 : I have never met my match yet.

◎ 그에게 질까 봐서 한층 더 분발했다 : Not to be outdone by him, I worked harder.

◎ 지는 것이 이기는 것이다 : To lose is to win.

<여가활동>

◎ 컴퓨터 게임을 했다. : I played the computer game.

◎ 인터넷을 했다. : I surfed the internet.

◎ 오락실에 갔다. : I went to the electric game room.

◎ 산에 올라갔다. : I climbed up the mountain.

◎ 책을 읽었다. : I read a book.

◎ 명동에서 쇼핑을 했다. : I went shopping in Myong-dong.

◎ 음악을 들었다. : I listened music.

◎ 인터넷을 했다. : I surf internet.

◎ TV를 보았다 : I watched TV.

◎ 고기를 요리했다. : I cooked a meat.

<시험>

◎ 중간고사(기말고사)가 시작되었다. : Midterm exams(final exams) started.

◎ 시험에 대비하여 공부를 했다 : I studied for an exam.

◎ 열심히 공부했다. : I studied hard.

◎ 나는 시험에 대비해서 벼락치기 공부를 했다 : I crammed for the examination.

◎ 밤늦도록 공부를 했다 : I studied till late at night.

◎ 아침부터 긴장해 있었다. : I have been very nervous since this morning.

◎ 영어 시험을 봤다 : I had an examination in English(examined a class in English).

◎ 오늘 영어 시험을 치루었다.: I took an english exam today.

◎ 그 문제가 시험에 나왔다 : The question is asked in the examination.

◎ 이번 시험과목은 윤리, 체육, 국어, 물리, 지리이다.
: This test subjects were ethics, physical education, korean, physics and geography.

◎ 어려웠다(쉬웠다) : I was difficult(easy).

◎ 나는 화학에서 좋은(나쁜) 성적을 얻었다.
: I got a good(bad) grade in chemistry.
: I made a good(bad) record in chemistry.
: In chemistry I did well(ill).

◎ 물리와 지리는 억망이었다. : I did so terribly in physics and geography.

◎ 지난 금요일에 시작된 시험이 오늘까지 계속되었다.
: Exams that had started last Friday continued until today.

◎ 시험에서 좋은 성적을 거두도록 최선을 다해야겠다.
: I have to do my best to obtain good grades on the exams.

◎ 시험에서 10등이나 떨어졌다. : I was ten places down in class after examination.

◎ 시험에 통과했다 : I passed a test.

◎ 시험에 떨어졌다 : I failed in a test.

◎ 나는 시험이 정말 싫다. : I am sick and tired of exams.

(4) 아픔(sick)

◎ 매우 아팠다. : I felt so sick.

◎ 머리가 아팠다. : I had a headache.

◎ 목 감기가 들었다. : I had a sore threat.

◎ 열이 났다. : I developed fever.

◎ 기침을 했다. : I had a cough.

◎ 감기 때문에 약을 먹었다. : I had to take some medicine for cold.

◎ 엄마는 나를 데리고 보령중앙병원에 갔다. : Mom took me to Bolyung center hospital.

(5) 쇼핑(shopping)

◎ 나의 엄마의 선물을 사야 한다고 생각했다 : I thought that I should buy my mother a gift.

◎ 그것은 너무 비쌌다. : It was too expensive.

◎ 나는 살수 없었다. : I could not afford it.

◎ 한 가계에서 나는 내가 사고 싶은 것을 찾아냈다. : At one store, I found exactly that I want to buy.

◎ 마음에 드는 것을 발견하고는 입어보았다. : I found something that I liked and tried it on.

◎ 바지를 20000원에 샀다. : I bought pants for 20000 won.

▒ 저녁 (in the evening)

◎ 예상했던 것보다 빨리 집에 갈 수 있었다. : I was able to get home earlier than I expected.

◎ 할 것이 아무 것도 없었다.: I had nothing to do.

◎ 곧 어두워졌다 : It became dark soon.

◎ 집으로 돌아 왔다.: I came back home.

◎ 숙제를 했다. : I did my homework.

◎ 저녁을 먹었다 : I ate dinner.

기분 및 맺음말 (Feeling and conclusion)

◎ 기분이 좋았다 : I felt well(great).

◎ 기뻤다.: I felt happy.

◎ 매우 즐거운 날이었다. : It was exciting day. / it was very interesting.

◎ 오늘은 나의 날이었다 : I was my day today.

◎ 오늘은 즐겁게 보냈다. : I had a good time today.

◎ 좋은 경험이었다. : It was a useful experience.

◎ 이 기억을 마음속 깊이 간직하고 영원히 잊지 않아야겠다.
: I won't forget this memory forever keeping it deeply in my mind

◎ 기분이 나빴다. : I felt ill(bad/poorly). / I was in a bad mood.

◎ 끔찍한 하루였다. : It was a terrible day.

◎ 기분이 울적했다 : I was[felt] down/I was depressed.
